Larry Winters

Larry Winters passed away on June 6, 2013 in Palm Beach,  Florida. He lived a full, connected and vibrant life.  Even as he faced lung cancer over the last 16 months, he never lost his positive outlook and approach.

Larry was many things to many people.  He was a devoted husband to our mother, Pearl Winters, from the early 50s until her death in 2001. To my brother Stan Warnow, and to me, Carrie Makover, he was an amazing stepfather, full of ideas, fun, and joie de vivre. He had a real interest in the two of us and was a loving grandfather to his five grandchildren as well. We were fortunate.

After our mother passed away he met and married Vicki Barnhill of Westport, Connecticut. They were together for eight years, until her death in 2010. He then met Sarah Howard of North Palm Beach and they spent more than two years together as a committed couple.

During his long and varied working life, Larry had also been an artist, jewelry-maker, stage director, designer and during the last several years, a sculptor which was undoubtedly his true calling.

The sculptures on this website represent his observations of the world during his travels between 2002-2009.

We will be holding a celebration of Larry's life in Orangeburg, NY on Sept. 22.  Please see the "Contact Us" page for further information.
